Ultimately I think I'm going to have to wait until the truck arrives. I did some ballpark math, but what I can't estimate is the clearance between the box rails on the 5'er overhang (i.e. the desired 4-6" clearance).
Old F250 ==> Box floor 32" + 15.5" hitch - 2.5" sag into suspension = approx 45" level ride height (i.e. top of hitch / bottom of strike plate on pin box)
New F350 ==> Box floor 38" + 14.5" hitch (after lowering 1 last notch) - 1.5" sag into suspension (total guess) = 51" ride height. Trailer leaf springs are already on top of axle. If I was able to drop truck rear end a full 4" then would be close at 47" ride height.
Then if I adjust the angle of the pin box where it ataches to the trailer...I just don't know what I end up doing or problems causing.
I just don't know...This is making my head hurt!! Like I said, I may just have to get my hands on truck and get hitch installed and figure it all out from there.
But I really appreciate everyone's thoughts. And if anyone knows if I can lower the rear the full 4" that would be great to know.
