If you want do do only as you please, just don't buy in an HOA development.That's it, plain and simple. ;)
After living far out in the farm country all my life, that is the reason I would never move into a HOA development. What I fear is urban sprawl. The suburbs are creeping in my direction and I don't want their regulations and codes being forced on me by newcomers to the area. :M
