My gripe is people who knowingly move into an area under HOA regulations then decide that restrictions against parking an RV in their driveway just does not apply to them. As a board member of an HOA, I'm frequently having to 'send in the lawyers' to make the resident comply with what they had agreed to when they put their signature on their closing papers. Some are just not people of their word. Our particular development allows parking behind your fence (but this requires adding an RV driveway and a gate). Some complain that they cannot afford that cost...seems to me if you want an RV, you need to include the cost of storing it properly in your budget. If you want do do only as you please, just don't buy in an HOA development. There are those of us who find the restrictions reasonable and of value.
Gary, while I absolutely dispose HOAs, and I would never live in one, I completely agree with your post. Even in Jon-HOA areas, there may be restrictions on parking an rv in your driveway. Before purchasing our TT, we made sure we could park it on our property. Our previous class c was parked off our property and it was a pain.
Also, to purchase an rv then claim you can't afford a fence is laughable. Those folks just want it to be all about them.
