Financing Funny

We're picking up our new Work & Play Thursday. We're financing it. After our (required) down payment, we are about $800-$1000 short of getting a lower interest rate. In other words, if we spend another $1000, we'll get a slightly lower rate. I've run the numbers and its almost the same payment.

I've already added an electric jack and rear anti-skid wheels to the camper. But now I'm stuck on what else.

Yes, I could just leave it and have more equity from the beginning. But if I am missing something, this would be an opportune time to add it to the price to help me get the lower rate.

Any ideas for something to add to a travel trailer toy hauler that I'm not thinking of?

  • Upgraded tires, definitely.

    I love my slide toppers.

    Progressive Industries Surge Protector.

    SteadyFast system for stabilization.

    Vent covers + fans.

    Second A/C.

    Upgraded mattress.

    Air-ride pin box (Trail Air/TriGlide).

    Watts water pressure regulator.

    Quality sewer + water hoses.

I can help you spend all sorts of money.
  • With me, I had them throw in a decent generator and a W/D hitch. Were I to do it again, I'd go for better batteries and solar as well.
  • Check with your tax person on this first!!!

You used to be able to throw in a new truck in the loan and take off interest because you now have a "second home" if self contained but must be in one loan package.

Don't know if still legal, check out first.
