Finding Storage

If you have a small airport near you, you may be able to find someone who has space in their hangar. The end T-hangar on the rows usually have extra space big enough for a 35 foot or less. At the airport where I work, that extra space is full of all sorts of cool stuff.

We found ours through word of mouth.

We were storing outside with no electric ($85.00 mo.) in hopes of finding someone who had some warehouse space. I mentioned it in passing to a neighbor. One phone call to her friend, and we are now storing inside with electric in a warehouse that has a whole warehouse dehumidifier as he has a lot of cars stored in it. We pay him $200.00 mo.

That is about the going rate in our area without electric, and that is for covered storage, not inside storage. Plus, there isn't much available, and they aren't conveniently located.

Oh I see. That particular one is really ways from my area. Great idea about the craigslist, i found outside parking spot in the back of a local nursery
For 50/mo. Kind of debating but right now Cant beat that in the 10 mi radius.

In California, I have a private garage that is 13x50 ft., 30 amp. The complex probably has 100 garages and is camera'd and has a manager in the office during business hours. I have a 'clicker' to get in the gate 24/7. I don't use the garage in the summer as it is too hot for storage but I keep the garage all year.
$400 per month.

In Tennessee, I have a spot in a huge warehouse type garage (100+ RV's, 5th wheels, TT'ers, antique cars) with 50 amp service. The space is very tight. Garage is camera'd and there is a manager on duty during business hours. Access is not 24/7 and closed on Sundays. If you want your unit on a Sunday, you have to put it in the secured outdoor lot prior to closing on Saturday. If you are returning on Sunday or after hours on any day, you have access to the secured lot with an access card. Then, the coach can be put away during business hours.
$300 per month.

Let's get a baseline. What's reasonably priced? What is everyone paying now? I bet the cost of storage is directly proportional to the population density in the area you're looking.

On Cape Cod, I pay $5 per foot per month, outside paved storage, fenced and locked.

A lot of the private parks in the area have storage areas in the park.

Why do you need indoor or covered storage?

Anyway if that is what you want or need, I am not surprised that the price is high. Not only does the rent need to make some profit, it needs to cover the cost of land and the structure plus any associated property taxes.

What's Merry Meadows CG stand for?

Bottom line: finding, "reasonably priced," storage anywhere is tough....especially indoor or covered storage.
