Finding Storage

Wanted to rattle on a little that it is difficult to find reasonably priced storage in my area (NW Baltimore County, MD). Commercial storage places ask as much as 250/mo and do not have empty spots. Finding privately owned seem to be the way to go but in so far very little success.

Any ideas on how to find storage?

  • If the places that advertise as storage are all to high priced, you may want to look outside the city. In my area for example, most state parks and COE parks have private storage, usually a farmer who builds a 3 sided barn or shed type building with chain link fencing gates across the fronts, as a means of supplementing their incomes. Folks who want to have both a camper and a boat on their weekends use these especially since they cant tow both units every weekend. These farmers typically dont advertise other than a sign on the road in front of the location. Rates in this very rural location run around $300 for six months. Check around some of the parks you have frequently visited and you may find something similar.
