I have averted an electrical fire in my own vehicle as well as that of another person by having an adjustable spanner and being able to disconnect the battery cable. I would bet that the burned RV had an electrical short and not a problem with the propane powered appliances.
With a RV fire I would be disconnecting the batteries, shutting off the propane, and then grabbing the fire extinguisher if that did not fix the problem.
A lot better than having a fire on a boat or in an airplane.
