Never heard of such a thing.
While a wood fire would be insane on a wooden deck(my opinion) there are lots of propane or natural gas fire pits with approved for use on decks and patios stickers affixed to them. OSH, LOWES, HOME DEPOT all carry them as do most RV supply stores.
