I have several wood splitting tools. but JJBirsh.. he's got the way to get 'er done :).
I have a log splitter axe, this is like a 8 or 12 pound (Forget which) mall with a sledge head on one side of the head and an axe blade (Very thick axe blade) on the other side.. It can split wood my regular axe won't touch. I have both short and long handled axes, and short and long handled hammers, the short ones are in the 2-4 pound range and I think the long (Sledge) is 8 pounds. I have two wedges, one is a straight wedge, the other a pointed wedge.
now that pointed one... That one takes care of business when all else fails.
That said. It was my wife who loved campfires.. I've not made one since she died.. So I don't use 'em much any more.
