Good morning, all! Greetings from sunny (if pretty cool) Arizona!
I am having some trouble posting pictures. I got the one on, but have not been able to duplicate that action. It was modified by the moderator, after posting to reduce size, but I have attempted, several times to post pictures again, with no success. Working with Admin to resolve. For those of you who have never been to the American Southwest desert, it has a beauty all its own. I would love to share this with you, and hope I can resolve this posting issue. I am using Photobucket as a posting site, but don't understand the problem.
In spite of that issue, we had a really nice time at a neighboring state park. We spent some time at Catalina State Park, just down the road. Of the five or so trails there, we finished two and will probably go back for some of the others. Sand covered trails and even some stream crossings, are very enjoyable. Even here in rather cooler weather than normal for this time of year, it was a lovely experience. The campground is flat, like in a dry riverbed type area. Nice trees and a combination of back-in and pull-through site for various sized RV's. Most of them have water and electricity. Compared to this park, the sites here are mostly pull-through and no water except at the dump station. The sites are level paved, but the campground itself is on a slope, overlooking the I-10 corridor valley. There are no trees, but lots of Saguaro cacti. All in all, just different types of geography. The trails here are considerably more difficult than at Catalina.
