Firstly, my apologies to the admin folks. I am now taking steps to reduce the size of my photos on photobucket.com. I am currently in a location where I must pay for wifi, and I choose to not make those changes while using up my 12gb of data from Verizon. So, when I am in a different place, I will resize all of them currently on the site.
Secondly, I am happy to report some significant victories in my battle against my lard! For the past nine days, eight of them have included hikes of close to 5K steps, two days over 8K and three days over 12K, including one hike of 18,653 steps on Feb 8th! The 8th hike was as rugged a walk as I have ever taken. The trail looked more like a rain washed gully than a path for most of the way. Now, granted, these walks won't seem like much to many of you, but I got closer to 250lbs than I ever want to again. Also no wind to speak of, panting while tying my shoes! Something had to give, so at least I've made a start. Don't have a scale, so I have no idea where my weight is, but I don't feel poured into my clothes.
I have also embarked on a slightly new path for me. Maybe some of you have wondered about this also. Have you ever needed to have something shipped to you while on the road? Many vendors will not use USPS for whatever reason, and I was told that a lot of state parks will not be responsible for accepting a package. Sooooooo, what to do? Well, turns out, FedEx and UPS have told, at least this park manager, that providing the street address is complete, accurate and includes your site number, they will deliver right to your RV. Old news to some, probably, but I will let you know how it works out in real life.
Last item is something I wish everyone would do. When I repaired appliances I as told, if you do a bad job, the customer will tell 7-10 people. If you do a good job, the customer will tell 1-3. I would honestly love to see that statistic reversed. I'll start! The good people at the Camping World of south Tuscon, AZ did a flawless job, when we recently enlisted their help with our fifth wheel. It is harrowing enough to have a refrigerator that only works intermittently. You automatically are stressed at spending a good deal of money you probably didn't budget for. Enter Doug Deets, Kim, and Trent from service, and parts/installation. We decided to do a direct replacement with our Norcold 8 cu ft. It had to be ordered from warehouse in wrong hinge configuration. They ordered, reversed door swing, replaced refr, and had us on our way in less than four hours!
Ok, so here's what impressed me the most; THEY CALLED ME BACK!!!!!! Word to service people the world over, CALL 'EM BACK!!!! If you say you will call, CALL! If a call in has to go to voice mail, CALL 'EM BACK!!!! It is so easy, and yet how many service visits go south, big time, just for a lack of consideration. No one is so busy you can't return a phone call. It goes such a long way. Anyhow, they did what they promised and in record time, by my count. Big shout out to Camping World on Palo Verde, Tuscon! Thank you guys so much!
Nite-nite campers. Enjoy your February, as we enjoy unseasonal mid 80s here!
