first trip to scales

Rig setup is whats in sig.
I went to scale friday morning before 3 night trip.
Let me know what you all think.

Truck
Front axle- 4720
Rear axle- 3860
Gross truck- 8580

TV and TT no WD
Front axle- 4280
Rear axle - 5340
TT axles - 5580
Gross TV and TT- 15200

TT and TV with WD hooked up
Front axle- 4660
Rear axle - 4760
TT axles- 5760
Gross TV and TT- 15180

I realize it changed 20 pounds. I assume just scale error ? Nothing in whole rig combination changed. Trailer towed great no complaints. :)
  • And, with your Reese strait line dual cam -- you have the added advantage of integrated sway control.

Just another good reason to use a WDH -- even if you do have a 1 ton truck.

  • Until I bought a tt I would have agreed. I have towed 14k before even knowing what a WDH was... I have towed lots of trailers and never worried figured I have a 350 no problem. Even when I was lookig for a 14k deck over trailer. I was looking to upgrade my hitch and the company said dont worry its a one ton. Then bought a tt and found out my hitch is only rated for 500 pound tongue weight load carrying. Plus, the rear of truck sags and front of tt is too low wihout wdh. I personally hate when trucks rear end sag below level! Also between my loaded truck weight and my tongue weight, im at 9, 620 pounds my gvwr is 9900
  • 6,620# fully loaded trailer (combined wieght minus truck only wieght)
1,040# tongue wieght (15%) (calculated TT wieght from above minus TT axles)

Not sure I would even use WDH with that size TT on a F350. Your better than good with that setup
  • Doubt you'd be able to tell the difference for 60# considering the weight of the 7.3 up front. I believe it is upwards of 2000# for just the engine.

    I doubt I'd change a thing.
  • ".....snip....... is that 60 pounds worth readjusting my wdh?"

It depends, are you capable of telling if you have another battery under the hood, a concrete block in the bed, or an extra passenger? Then yes. Otherwise that big F-350 will never know the difference.
  • I realize im 60 pounds light on front axle after wd hooked up. I returned 86 % of weight lost... it towed very nicely is that 60 pounds worth readjusting my wdh
  • Looks like you need to transfer more weight to the front wheels of the TV.
