speaking of being a sucker, I just got from one of the mail order catalogs they flood you with, a flashlight that clips onto a 9 volt battery and is only about 1/2 inch longer than the 9 volter by itself. has a setting for either 2 or 6 LEDs IIRC and I have it clipped onto a lithium battery. should last as long as I will.
