Flashlight for camping needed

HI, do you guys carry flashlight with you when you go out for camping? I am going to out for a camping, and need a flashlight, do you guys know what brands are good. I searched some brands online such as Sure fire, fenix, streamlight, tank007, etc, but find the flashlight a little expensive. Do you think I need to pay that much money for a flashlight?

This is an oddly worded post... I hope my spidey sense is not saying this is a lead in to an advertising post...

What kind of camping are you thinking about? RV'ing, hiking? If you are RV'ing, then big heavy flashlights are fine. If you are hiking, you want super lightweight lights.

I've found that for the expensive flashlights out there, I can buy 3 or 4 or more inexpensive small LED flashlights that seem to work fine. Just look in your local hardware store, Walmart, wherever.

If you are backcountry hiking and camping, yes, you may want to invest in fancy flashlights for dependability.

You can buy 12 of these Cree adjustable 1000+ lumens for that price and they use the same Cree chip. Granted you cannot use them to beat someone over the head with them, but they are amazingly bright and use three AAA batteries that will only run them for a year in normal use. Not sure why you would need a lithium ion battery (rechargeable 1000 times) unless it has a USB port to recharge your phone.
OP, buy one and try it if in doubt but you will end up putting one in every vehicle you own and all around the house and RV.
    * If you want the $115 one in four days, shipping will be $8.99 if you do not order today, so you can buy 13 delivered.:W

    They look interesting, thanks.
  • ego rather than need spurs the purchase of many of these items. IMHO a flashlight for general use is basically a disposable item. I will lose it or have the batteries corrode it before it is worn out.

HERE is the one I use. Worth the extra money...Dennis

Agree 100%, it is the one I use also and more than worth the money. In fact I am going to order another one because my DW keeps borrowing mine and I can never find it when I am the one to need it. Great light, you will not be disappointed.
