Flat towing

Considering purchasing 2015 gmc Colorado to flat tow. Can this vehicle be flat towed with no modifications
  • 4X4 MAY be towable IF there is a Neutral position in the transfer case.
If there is no Neutral position, it is probably not towable.
4X2 is probably not towable without a driveshaft disconnect or a lube pump.
As previously stated, check the Owners Manual.
  • 4x4 should be towable, not 2 wheel drive if it is automatic trans.
  • Before I would buy, I would get a hold of the owners manual and verify. This by- passes salesman, lists that don't list, non owners opinions etc.
Even then some companies (Ford) change their mind about their commitments in their manuals, but I would still start with reading the owners manual.
  • I would recommend NOT buying a toad that needs either a drive shaft disconnect or tranny lube pump to be able to tow it. if you buy that colorado and put a lube pump on it, kiss the warranty goodbye if you have transmission issues.

  • REMCO reports that this vehicle requires a lube pump to be flat towable.

Looks like you're outta luck on this one.

  • Not even listed in the 2015 Guide to Dinghy Towing - that is not good news - 99% chance not towable 4 down as is
