I have 2 of the original X-Hoses (50ft), and 1 X-Hose Pro (50ft). IF you want one, get the X-Hose Pro. It looks the same as the Rumford one, and is probably made by the same factory. The original X-Hose is blue and uses plastic fittings. Those don't last. The Pro version is black, and like the Rumford, has brass fittings.
My only real beef with using one is actually not with the hose itself, it is the fact that our city water supply pressure is insufficient to properly use the hose. The hose takes a long time to fully expand, and as soon as you open the end valve 50% or greater (or operate attachment at 50% or greater flow) the hose contracts. I actually combine 2 hoses to cover the distance that one SHOULD cover just because of this.
But, other than insufficient pressure, I love the things! They are easy to handle, light when empty, and store easily. Yes, you have to be a little more careful when handling them so as not to tear the fabric covering, but a small price to pay for the convenience of handling and storage.
Now if only we could get decent water pressure......
Cheers!
