Floe Drain Down System

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone has tried the Floe drain down system. I normally winterize our travel trailer using pink antifreeze. Sometimes we camp early or late in the season and need to winterize more than once. An easy alternative would be nice.

Any feedback on this system?

Thanks.
  • Weren't they designed for boats? I can see the advantage there (kinda) but not so much with an RV.

Gee. I use a Blowout plug. this is the one I use but there are others designed for different type of connection

    Camco at Wal*mart

Change back from a ten spot

And my existing 150 PSI 6 gallon blow hard (Air compressor) that I use for tires and such.
  • one could install a $18.00 winterizing kit and adapt a fitting to use an air compressor.

  • An expensive answer looking to replace a inexpensive answer.
  • I don't see an advantage over using a compressor to blow out the system.

The kit takes around 20 minutes to fit to your vehicle and in six easy steps your vehicle will be fully drained down.

Step 1: Drain your water heater

Step 2: Close water heater dump valve and all taps

Step 3 : Switch the Floë 636 on to activate the air compression system

Step 4: Open each tap in your caravan or motorhome individually, including the shower, until all are drained.

Step 5: Switch off the Floë

Step 6: Leave all taps open to let the air circulate
  • Seems like a lot of unnecessary expense and effort for something that is so easy to do with what you have. All you really need is an inexpensive source of low pressure air. Personally, I feel a lot safer with filling all the pipes with pink stuff, and draining the water heater. I do like to open all drains ahead of time and drain as much as will, su that I do not have to flush water into the holding tanks. Usully I have enough overflow of pink to take care of the holding tanks. One word of caution, with either or ANY system, do not forget the drain traps!! Draining or blowing will NOT get the water out there. Use enough pink down the drains to make sure!!!
