Floor jack will only work properly if the castors can move as the jack is pumped up. Sand, dirt, and most asphalt is to soft. Without the jack castors being able to roll, the jacked vehicle will be pulled horizontally towards you.
Physics cannot be ignored, if the resistance of the sunken castors is greater than the grip the jacking plate has on the frame of the vehicle, you may end up dropping it!
