- roam1Exploreryeah, come to think of it, I'll pull out the old paper map and read it while driving......no one ever did that......or change the radio station.......or get a burger at the drive thru.....or put their sun glasses on.........nevermind.....

Well, that's to be expected. Compare getting a pilot's license to a license necessary to motor a 40' 5th wheel and truck down the road. Oh wait, you get one of those when you get one for your Honda, same type of vehicle, right? If you have a license to pilot a Cessna 172, then that same license should enable you to fly a Airbus A380. Same type of vehicle, right? Wings, engine, wheels, it's just a bit bigger. :)
And of course the consequences of silly mistakes in an aircraft can be much more severe...lethal perhaps.
Sounds like you just need to stay home. People have been multitasking long before cell phones came along. It was much more dangerous to have a drink in the 60's before cup holders. I get the problem with texting but don't go overboard, even you look at your GPS now and then even if it does talk to you. 10 and 2 - JaxDadExplorer III

Your own argument defeats itself. A motorhome is personal use, you can’t drive a tractor trailer with a normal car license.
Ditto an airplane, you need a special license to fly for pay, even if it’s in a 172.
And yes, a split second of inattention in even a tiny car can be fatal. - fj12ryderExplorer III"Let’s just say I’ve seen (proportionately) FAR more silly mistakes with cars, trucks and RV’s than I’ve ever seen with aircraft."

So said the pilot just before he landed with the gear up. :)
Sorry if you cannot handle one more instrument in the panel. I guess you never turned a radio know.
My eyes never leave the road with the phone mounted properly. How would one get reports otherwise? Not calling some hotline.
I am a pilot and can walk and chew gum at the same time. Quite talented actually.

But yes, I’d like to see one of these naysayers faces as I go through the landing at Osh Kosh. - fj12ryderExplorer III

Sure I do, the type that's set-it-and-forget-it. Requires no input from me while I'm driving. Kind of apples and oranges comparison really.
So you don't use a GPS then. - pnicholsExplorer II

.... Not if your device doesn't have cell tower access ... as is the case during portions of many of our RV trips.
We don't like to depend at all on cellular access to navigate us. We use GPS and Benchmark maps. ;) - DuctapeExplorerSo you don't use a GPS then.
