I go to several different stations with my 38' class A.. FLying-J is my favorite when I am on the road cause I gas up at the end of the day. Park. Hit the Denny's for supper/breakfast the next am and "On the road again".
Some of those RV lanes though are a bit .. er... Scary.. Getting out of 'em with the toad.
Now PILOT or LOVE's or "Non truck stop" stations.. The trick is to use an OUTSIDE pump.. So there is nothing but open space on the non pump side. Then you can pull up a foot or two farther out (The hose is longer than most think) and you have room.
Last time I was at about a 45 degree angle to the pump due to the other pump at the two pump island being occupied. (That was a PILOT I-69 and Waddams RD. MI)
It is all about picking the right pump.
Went to Arby's for lunch (Attached to a LOVE's in Fair Play SC)
Was talking to a poor man who did a Goosneck conversion on his 5er and spiked his brakes pretzling the pin box. (OUCH)
WHile we were chatting a brand new ceader creek 38' trailer pulled away from the gas pumps.. Turned the corner a bit tight and tore the rear cap off.. Did not stop. Did not slow down. Did not try to do emergency repair. .Just headed back to the freeway.. Oh well.
