Beggars and lot lizards tend not to hang around the fuel island where they are easily seen by management. They slurry amognst the trucks parked in the lot. Believe it or not, they seem to respect the "NO LOT LIZARD" sticker.

Worse one for me was PA T/P service plaza.

Knocked on driver door---I told her to go away. She then knocked on passenger door---stupid &!(@ that door still belongs to my truck, try the next truck. Heard her knocking on next truck---in the morning my brother (next truck) wanted to know why I sent her over to him????? LMAO

If T/A, Flying hook, Lowes etc... Really bother you. Go to a Pilot, they tend to be overgrown convenient stores/fast-food joints with tiny overnight lots...

You seriously asked a minimum wage cashier about how to care for your 60K truck? :E

Semi trucks cost a lot more than a 1 ton diesel pickup truck and the semi drivers don't seem to have all the trouble guys on here keep talking about. The day I can't put the DEF in the correct tank is the day I quit doing it and have my 8 year old grandson do it for me.

I once asked a cashier at the fuel desk if she ever heard of DEF being contaminated and she said no she hadn't, the drivers pump it into their trucks all day and night with out any problems.

I put in about 5 gallons after about 6000 miles. Although I did not check my MPG I figure that was probably about 1 gallon of DEF per 80 gallons of diesel.

Like mentioned here earlier I'll have a jug in the tool box with fresh DEF just in case. BTW the code date on the jug given to me states "use by SEPT 2016".

I know i read someone say that there is a chance of filling def into the fuel tank or vice versa...

I dunno... seeing that there is color codes, i find it really difficult to do that. I'd love to keep 5gallons on me on a road trip... and at $3 vs 10/gallon-ish...

what would be slick is if you had a transfer flow box, with a separate 5-10g def tank.... tied to the system.... that'd be slick!

I use truck stops all the time! Now that I have a new RAM with DEF I will be filling that tank there also.

I pull up the wife takes note of what pump we are at has the cashier put over what it will actually cost on the CC to fill the truck. Once that is done I start filling when done I call my wife's phone let it ring two times so she knows I am done then she finishes the transaction. Then I pull forward to let the truck behind me pull up to fuel.

It's really that easy!

FACT....the Def and Diesel nozzles are two separate items at the truck stops. The DEF nozzle mentioned above was probably covered for winter to keep from freezing.

X2 minus the phone thing. I have topped up my def tank twice, and both at Flying J truck stops. No issues at all and I'm sure the def was good and fresh along with the fuel. I may get a jug of it to keep in the truck but it really doesn't use enough of it to be too concerned.

Don't over think this folks; fill the right tank with the right product, pay, and go camping!

I will add that you should bring a rag with you to wipe off the Def nozzle . When that stuff dries on the nozzle it leaves a white crud on it and I wouldn't want in my tank.
At least that's what I do whenever I fill up my big truck.
