Flying J?

If you go through the RV Island you can use a Credit Card without going inside.

Keep this in mind... Pilot might own Flyin J but the two are far from the same, at least the ones we've visited on the east coast. Flyin J does a much better job catering to RVs with most locations having a separate RV island (with no cover so if it's raining you're going to get wet) and this island usually has dump facilities right at the pump. Most Pilot locations we've been to do not have the RV island or dump provisions. Some pilot stations are down right unfriendly to the RV driver, this is unless you're getting diesel at the big rig pumps.

Forgot to mention keeping with the thread... you can use your visa at Flyin J right at the pump, gas or diesel

Pilots and a Flying J diesel prices in Idaho are $2.99 cash and $3.03 credit.... I can and do buy all my diesel fuel at other places in Idaho for $2.67 average right now... I also find I can navigate into the stations I use with my fifth wheel with no issues...

Large class A maybe not so easy... anyway.. I RV all over the western states and avoid using any truck stop stations because I find it much easier and simpler to use other stations.. to each his own...

This will be our first trip that requires me to gas up on the road. We've mostly stuck to Ohio, Indiana and KY. With around 4 hrs or so we don't need to fill up.

Heading out west this summer and am just a little anxious. I plan to plan ahead of course and get gas early, but it'll still be new.

My Visa CC gives me 3% after using the GS 3¢ discount so I use it and not the Flying J Plus I have. On $2.45 fuel that gives me a 10¢ gal discount.

FJ RV PLUS CARD. One card, no swapping, includes discounted fuel, and unless you own a 43 foot DP and flat tow you'll never know why it's so important to use the truck lanes! I can use any station and perhaps get a few cents off but I choose the FJ truck lanes because it's easier...

We use our PenFed Visa Cash Rewards Card that rebates 5% of the discounted gas price when using our GS membership card with the new 5 cent discount at Flying J. At our top off yesterday in VA, the combination saved us 16 cents per gallon.

Dutch, so what do you do, just stick that flying J card in first then the Pen Fed?

Looks like i been missing out on the additional up front discount. :h

love that Pen Fed. i got more than enough to pay for the rental car in AK this summer. :B

Could someone explain to the Flying J architects that water (and sewage) flows down hill? Why do they slope the pavement AWAY FROM the dump station? I intended to use the one near Jackson, GA until I saw that the tank would not drain because the dump station was UPHILL from the adjacent parking space.

Flying J, Loves, Pilot and others all their auto gas/diesel pumps take the usual cards.

At the truck lanes If using Visa, MS or AE I have my wife go inside tell them a dollar amount that will exceed what I plan to spend. She tells them pump # and they swipe the card. When done fueling I call her phone let it ring two times hang up indicating QUIT SHOPPING and pay for fuel and come back to the truck.

Works GREAT!
