Which knee hurts the most? which knee has bone on bone the longest? Which knee will have more internal damage the longer you wait? The answer to these questions will help you choose which knee to do 1st. Ask for the "Quad Sparring surgerical technique"

Knee replacement is not like replacing a water pump on your car. Each person is different in recovery and results. My ortho said I was a poster boy for knee replacement.

I was 63 and have been physically fit my entire life. I weigh less than I did when I graduated from high school. I'm on no meds with a blood pressure of 115 over 65.

Before replacement I had a huge cist that looked like a second knee cap. My knee was full of fluid, I could only walk a couple of miles, couldn't sleep and was in constant pain.

I was off all pain meds at three days. Used a walker for about 10 days. Kicked out of rehab at 7 weeks and dismissed by the doctor shortly after. I was hiking the Superstition Mountains at 10 weeks.

I have no pain. I can hike 10 miles without thinking. It was a life changer for me.

Wife has a pacemaker. A few years ago she went to a courthouse for buwiness relating to property or something up north.
They insisted she had to go through the metal detector, and that it it wouldn't affect her.
She has a card.
Her Doctor had a fit. I don't know if they had to reset it or what.

I received my first replacement on 11 June this year. 1st card was given to me on 14 June as I checked out of the ward. Sept 9th I will find how soon I can get the second replaced, hope it is soon. I have not had any pain in replaced knee for some time.

I had both knees that went bone on bone about the same time, as it felt like and sounded like due to the same grinding sounds from both.
I had one knee that if I stepped on it just right, it felt as if it was going to turn backwards, but felt the same as the other. That was the one that I chose first. This sounds strange, but replace your best last as you will learn to depend on it till the pain leaves the new one.

You will need to get yourself the seat riser (mine 4") along with the handles so that you can lower yourself slowly till the new apparatus pain starts to subside.

Everything goes as it should for your surgery, and I can assure you that you will join the ranks and wish you had done this much earlier.

I had a hip replacement and don't have a card. Too easy to copy. Not a big deal to go through scanner and get patted down. I have found that the full body scanners are better and much faster to get through security.

I threw my card away...never was asked for it and I fly all the time.
I just tell the TSA guy that I have a joint replacement. They deal with lots of them daily.
I walk through the scanner, it beeps, they pull me aside and wand me and that's it.

I have a card but have never been asked for it. It is not considered official proof of anything. They are still going to screen your knee if you have a card or not. I don't even carry it with me anymore.

Certainly get a card if possible it makes things easier.

I have a card they gave me when I had a radiation treatment. I would set of a counter for levels of radiation, LOL.
