As I stated earlier... getting rid of the 2nd glass pane reduces the trapped moisture, which causes the fogging... the question here is .. IF ... the single pane remaining , will turn blacker , or clear up entirely.
I do not know first hand. I read a post once from someone who claimed it COULD happen, but I personally would try it, if presented with that situation AGAIN.
