The problem on the interstates is the right hand lane pavement is destroyed, because the trucks are pretty much restricted to that lane. The other lanes are in much better condition (none of California's roads are in good condition, the inner lanes are less bad.)
so it is a matter of strictly obeying the law and shake your rig apart, or risk a ticket and save your rig from a premature death.
