At potlucks, I am more likely to stay away from food made by people I know than food made by those I don't know. I can follow the "ignorance is bliss" concept with strangers - assume they've properly prepared and stored food in a clean environment. But with people I know, I KNOW how they prepare and store food and the environment, and there's no avoiding the truth.
