Thanks for all your comments, just back from the potluck, yes I brought three things for the share table as well as my tupperware supper.
To answer the eating out question, I may eat out two or three times a year, and only if there is no way that I can make something, I also have a safe food handlers certificates from one Canadian province and one US state and I do work in a restaurant in Canada so I know what goes on in at least one commercial kitchen .
Anyway enjoyed meeting folks that I had not seen in a year and my turkey was cooked just the way I like it.
