I cab appreciate the OP's comments. I'm almost the same way.
In my early career I was a telephone repairman. I was in thousands of kitchens and have been in every kind of home. You would be shocked at some of the condition of kitchens!! Doesn't matter what the home looked like from the outside or what neighbourhood they were in. Some you could eat off the floor and others I needed to have a shower after leaving.
Since then I am very particular as to where the food I'm eating comes from.
