Food at Potlucks- Am I the only one?

Yep an old friend always said potlucks were all pot and no luck !
I only eat from what people that I know personally bring to such occasions.
Went to one many years ago dipped into the spaghetti and meatballs went to cut one of the meatballs in half , a friggen long hair was wadded up in it. The whole plate full of food went into the trash.
I refuse to eat at any anymore except with close friends.
Same thing with buffets (Hometown) etc, people/public in general are disgusting slobs/pigs...
To each their own I always says "no thankyou , but more for you"...
