If you just need more room there are plenty of RVers using capable vans and SUVs to pull similar sized TTs. It is ultimately your call and we know where your DW sits on the issue, issue appears resolved if you ask me.
For us it is easy, we need a big truck for working around the ranch so we never give much thought to Class A rigs, plus I see plenty of high-end towables at the RV shows that deliver all the same creature comforts if I was looking for more plush factor.
Get what fits your situation best, every class of RV has it's pros and cons. Just watching our neighbors traverse through the various classes and sizes of RVs in search of the perfect rig, only to go back to where they started. Here's hoping whatever route you take works to get you and your DW out on the road more often. Happy Camping!!!
