For those wanting Television

I see a number of threads lately about those having problems getting to watch TV.

I have Dish, the over-the-air Digital box, and I think I now have the cable rigged up. I will check that functionally when I get the chance.

But consider taking all your favorite DVD's with you. Don't you have some movies that you could watch over and over? I certainly do, and I have a fair-to-middling collection from over the years.

This also works with the grandkids. I like cartoons and so do they.

This idea requires no hookups or receivers, etc. Its my backup plan, what's yours?

  • My plan is to go out and not watch tv. I can stay home and watch tv cheaper then renting an RV site to watch tv.
  • I don't think I have been to the movies 10 times in my life and maybe no more then that on tape or DVD. When I go away I like to check on the news every few days but I can think of a lot of stuff to do besides watching the TV. Why would you watch the same thing twice?

...and for traveling, works great because you can return a movie to a different Redbox, even in a different town or state, from the one you rented from!

My backup plan is using my OTA Bat wing antenna and watch the NATL BROADCAST from the local towns which is transmitted in FULL BLOWN HIGH DEF TV mode... Works just everywhere we go here on the East side of the US.

In the Pennsylvania mountains there is nothing OTA in many campgrounds.
  • I tossed all our DVD and CD plastic cases long-long ago and put the actual disks in a binder-folder that holds a hundred CD's. Got one for music and the other for television. Works for us. Trailer came with a built in DVD player and surround sound, why not use it?
  • John Wayne movies........and Quigley Down Under ------ over and over and over and over........that's why I do my sewing........ :) :) :)
