Could you place some boards for the truck tires to ride on at the slope break between street and driveway?

^^I was thinking this too. You could lay a 2x10 (or stack 2) in the road and back the truck tires onto it. This will lift the truck up so it won't drag. Lynx blocks may work if you already have them.
I have a very steep driveway as well. I always remove my bars before backing up. No scientific reason, I just never felt easy with all of that twisting at that angle.
Since you have a steep drive and not too hijack this post, but how do you level your TT while its in the driveway? With my tongue jack all of the way down and with 7" of wood under it, it still needs to go up another 2-3". I can't put any more wood under it because with the tongue jack up and hooked to the truck, I only have about 7" of clearance. I can't shove anymore under it for leverage. Hard to explain.
