Thanx That is what I was looking for.
I saw others who were disconnecting the positive also. The only problem I could see with doing that is if you are using diodes and one fails. It could send power back thru the system as it already has ground. Don't know for sure though.
Just looking at the battery location in the Focus it looks like the battery could be reversed in the battery box putting the negative terminal where it can be reached to disconnect. The negative cable looks long enough to reach ok. Then replace the positive cable with a longer one to reach the new location of the positive terminal in the rear of the box..
