battery disconnect switch

On our previous trailer, no disconnect for batteries. I was going to put a 2 circuit in so we could isolate each 12v battery if we needed to for some reason (normally would have both connected)..

Yes, I used a 2 circuit switch. These Blue Sea products are great.

The key is that the disconnect must be in the positive line and the breakaway must be connected directly to the battery prior to the disconnect.

I have two things on my POPUP Trailer BATTERY SETUP that are not disconnected... The ROOF Raise Circuit and the Breakaway Switch Circuit. These are both positive switching action so will not run down the battery unless they are physical switched ON... These two circuits are wired separately to the battery terminals.

The other wiring goes through the BATTERY DISCONNECT setup which is installed in the POSITIVE "+" cables not the NEGATIVE FRAME "-" Cable like most others like to use...

I am planning on adding a 100WATT Solar panel to assist in trickle charging of the batteries when in HIGH SUN and this will have a separate circuit wired into the battery bank.

The BLUE SEA switches contact areas are sealed and make before break to reduce arcing. I have been using everything BLUE SEA since 2008 and switches are still performing as they did when i got them...

The other thing I like about the BLUE SEA Products switches and bus bars etc is I get to use 5/16-inch ring terminals everywhere... Makes for neat connections.

I was introduced with the BLUE SEA products in my working years with the SPAWAR Navy bunch from Charleson SC building up things for their shore station electronics systems etc...

Agree - I've got at least 4 of those keyed switches sitting in a junk drawer in my workshop and every one of them has failed, the Blue Sea m-Series switch I bought years ago and I've not had any issues with it at all.
