Fort Bragg, CA Camping suggestions Pleeze!

Hey. . .Thinking of heading to the CA coast around end of November & wondering if there is any boondocking or decent campgrounds that are cost effective (with fire rings)near Ft. Bragg, CA. Thinking of doing Van Damme State Park for a few nights & also MacKerricker State Park. . .Have a 32' 5th wheel & plan on Hwy 128 to Hwy 1. . . Will probably also have the dual sport for short rides. . .Thanks in advance. . .Anyone been to Hidden Pines Campground????

    The OP might want to check the CA state parks' website for "open or closed" info on other state parks in the area of interest.

    We like Caspar Beach RV Park. It is a bit tight when filled up, but they manage to position everyone well. We were able to share some abalone with the local divers staying there. We really enjoyed it there, and it is probably the best RV Park near the beach.

    Make sure that you go the the Sea Glass Museum, and Sea Glass Beach (which is magnificent).

    Why not stay in the Willits KOA and ride the train into Ft. Brag? :B

    Since you are going right pass there, There is an annex of Navarro River Redwoods SP at the mouth of the Navarro River. Park is located on 1 just south of 128. Cross the river on 1 and turn right on Navarro River Road. You might want to look at it on Google maps. Nice camping area with several sites. Plenty of driftwood for fires.

    I was going to suggest the Jackson State Forest- they have some pretty nice campgrounds between Fort Bragg and Willits. Cheap, too. But I looked just now and see they're all closed for the season...

    Don't know if there are any exceptions, so here's a link in case you want to inquire directly.
