Hated it. Too expensive. Sites electrical in the far back corner, never saw one employee that looked happy. Only time we did see an employee was on our last morning, asking us if we would be out by 10:00 am. Its overpriced and over hyped. I lived in california for 28 years went to disneyland at least 2 times a year, is disneyworld bigger and better, YES, but i would never waste my money camping at fort wilderness again
Spent at least 100+ nights there, and I have yet to meet an unpleasant employee, and never got asked about when we were pulling out. This trip, (two weeks ago) was the first time I got a site that had the power WAY too far to the rear of the pad, but it isn't typical. To each his own, but when you are running an operation that has 100% occupancy for months on end, demand pricing that results in $150+ a night prices in some time slots, and folks obsessively surfing your website in hopes of hitting a rarely available cancellation, and a chance to get into the place for a few days, I'm pretty sure they aren't losing much sleep over the statistically tiny number of haters out there. When it comes to the North American RV resort market, I doubt that there is a better run, more profitable operation, with a higher customer satisfaction rating. - sorenExplorer

$75 to a hundred per night? I’ll pass. “They pave over paradise and put up a parking lot.”
The place is beautifully wooded, with incredible landscaping, and it's continually and meticulously maintained. If it's not what you're into, that's fine. But it's about as far the song lyrics you quote, as a campground can possibly be. As for price, It can go far higher than your numbers, and having been there 17-18 times now, it's always worth the price. - suprzExplorerHated it. Too expensive. - Sargehut234ExplorerI can't seem to find which sites are"premium".
- CampntwinsExplorerWe go to the Fort every couple of years and were there in December. If we lived closer and less costly, we'd go as often as possible. Our kids are grown now and still love WDW and Fort Wilderness. The kids now can go as they wish and so can we. As we get older, we spend more time at the campground and less time in the parks and still enjoy every minute.
- CampingN_C_ExplorerI guess I look at Disney and the Fort differently than most. I almost don't look at the prices, and I'm not a wealthy person. I tend to look at it more as a necessity. Like gas, cost doesn't matter, you have to have it. You only have a small window when the kids still think its 'cool'.
We go every other year. However we don't go all out on the restaurants. You can truly spend a fortune on that part of the trip. - IdaDExplorerI've never been there but it looks like a lot nicer option than the little RV parks around Disneyland in Anaheim. Nature of the beast being in a major city versus central Florida, I suppose. If you consider the overall experience and compare it to staying at a Disney hotel the value starts to look better.

Sargehut234,
I forgot to add that IF you have a dog you need to request a site on a pet loop. When I've done that using their online reservation system, we're not always assigned a pet loop. I usually call in after I make the reservations to make sure we actually are assigned on a pet loop.
Good Luck,
~Rick
Specific pet loops no longer exist. All loops are now pet loops. Tvov wrote:
When are you trying to reserve? We went in October, which is considered "off-season", and never had an issue getting a campsite. Actually, the campground was only about 3/4 full.
It has been awhile since we've gone, but have you tried calling and talking to a person?
This may be reaching, but... are you using Firefox on your computer when you try the reservations system? If so, try using Google. Sometimes computer programs don't properly work with certain operating systems.
Look on the various Disney forums online for help. A lot of people out there would love to help out!
The last time I tried to reservere was last October during the week. Everytime I try and reserve online it says no vacancy. Many times I just pick random dates and stick in and they alway come back full, except for the tent sites. I have used Internet Explorer and Chrome on many occasions. I guess next time I will try calling instead of trying online. I have never tried to reserve during a holiday.
