For a few weeks I've had a worsening odor problem mainly on the passenger side but now spreading inside (windows open). It's not quite sewer, not quite propane, kind of bad cabbage. I've done all the tank cleaning I can, crawled under to check for dead things and leaks, can't remove rooftop vent covers. I've checked battery compartment, back of fridge. I've full-timed for over 20 years and never had a problem like this.What am I missing?

Sounds like your battery is fixing to go out.Maybe the alternator is over charging.

My guess is your battery has a shorted cell and the others are now being over charged and boiling out. Either that, or check inside your hub caps. Someone may just not like you.

X2 pull those batteries ,could be dry. if they are there toast.

I had a car once that emitted a nasty smell out of the air conditioning vents because of mold on the core. They made a spray to eliminate that stuff.

Here are 2 guesses:

Have you emptied your hot water heater in the RV? I neglected to empty mine once and it stunk very badly after a few months.

Heater core under the dash. I had one leak in a car once. Smelled bad and made a mess. Try running your heat for awhile to circulate the liquid within the core.

Any chance it is the dash air conditioner? Debris in the evaporator can get real stinky.

You don’t say whether it’s when the unit is driving or parked, nor even what kind of rig you have, but if it’s when the engine is running, check your catalytic converter(s).

If they clog they can produce a really foul odour.

Thanks all. Batteries are fine. Two years old, always kept filled. Pulled cover and no smell there, no bubbling over.
