Fresh water drain valve metal replacement
Having replaced Camco 22223 Fresh Water Drain valves and similar ones by other manufacturers several times because they leak, are hard to turn, or get brittle and break, I spent three days feverishly seeking alternatives on the web because previous searches for replacement metal drain valves had been unsuccessful. After considering many unsatisfactory alternatives I stumbled on to a link to an ebay Seller who sells "RV Fresh Water Drain Valve Flanges". What these are are a flange with the barbed two stage nipple that has a hole tapped for a 1/8" NPT thread into which you can screw metal automotive , compressed air, or other drain cocks. The mounting holes in the flange have the same size and centering as do the plastic valve flange that it replaces. They are pricey but they will last forever, will actually take some pressure and will never leak. I bought three and am very pleased with them.
The only negative is that, currently he sells them un-anodized or in black anodize. I suggested that he anodize them white and he is considering that.
They are beautifully machined and the anodization is professionally done, as well. I recommend them highly.
