For me also 25' is usually enough. I have two 25' hoses. The one seldomly used hangs from a large hook in the basement. The one that gets used all the time gets put in the truck bed behind the hitch along with the 50 amp cord and big 6x6x12" landing gear blocks.
Sorry, small Hijack here for a moment.
Cummins12V98 just got to ask.
1. why not carry the power cord and water hose on the basement of the 5er? My goal is to have a tote of perishable food, as the only item to load when we want to head out.
2. Why why 12" tall landing gear blocks? Doesn't your LG have drop down extensions? It seems to me that a 12" tall with a 6"X 6" base would be unstable. - Chevyman2006Explorer

Need some ideas on a NEAT way of storing my 50' fresh water hose. Would like something I could store it in, and remove the hose and storage "device" from compartment.
Thanks in advance.
Why do you have a 50' water hose? Heck most of the I have never had an issue with getting hooked up with a 25' water hose,I didn't know that they made the potable water hoses in 50' lengths.
I covered it before, but my previous camper had the hookup in the rear and some of our campsites are very deep. I've had several times that my 50' came in very handy. - Cummins12V98Explorer IIIFor me also 25' is usually enough. I have two 25' hoses. I use a 50' flat hose that comes on a reel. Works great.
Is it drinking water safe?
How long have you had it? - rhagfoExplorer III

I also carry a 15'(made from a 25 that an end went bad) and a flat 25' I picked up at a sale. The only one that stays out and easy to get to is the 25' which I store on top of a Rubber Maid storage container along with the electrical cord. As someone said, these are the first tow items needed and generally the last to be loaded.
- Passin_ThruExplorerBe sure to attach the ends to each other to keep dirt and varmits out.
- ryanallie1ExplorerHi All.
As said, a 50 ft Hose is rather hard to deal with. There have already been several good choice for you to choose from, for storing your hoses. We carry one 25 ft Drinking Water Hose, and a 15 ft Drinking Water hose, and a couple of 4 ft Drinking Water Hoses. We have never needed more than this in 45 years of RV'ing. If I were going to replace our Drinking Water Hoses, I would go with one 50 ft Drinking Water Hose, on its on reel. That way it would take up a lot less room. Right now, we have all of our Hoses in a 5 Gal Bucket. The reason for that, is because we do mostly all Boondocking. And a lot of places require that you have at least one 5 Gallon Bucket, and a Shovel, a Rake and an Ax. Works for us anyways. There are lots of choice out there, just depending on how much Drinking Water Hose you want to carry. Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill - MSGMadhatterExplorerDrinking water hoses- I also use a hose reel. (2-50s,1-25).
I can roll them up and clean them if necessary at the same time much quicker than trying to roll them up. I keep 1-10' rolled up loose just in case I get lucky to be that close. You never know
what you will find. More is always better. - mielockExplorerI see one other person mentioned what I do with hoses, which is a laundry basket. The one I have has a circular shape to it and the handles that are built in make it very easy and sturdy to grab and move about with the weight. I use additional laundry baskets for electrical cords and most of the items I store in the pass-through area.
