I have driven in about 40 or more states, and have had mostly good experience everywhere. Of course there is some fool wherever one goes.
However, as a CA native, I think I have the right to declare that the 'laid-back attitude' one might expect here does not exist. I could go on for hours about the reasons.
I say, expect the unexpected. Murphy's law is always in effect. If it is possible for someone to do something stupid, yes, it will happen.
IMHO, the truckers are 99% professional and courteous. I try to be the same to them and all the great unwashed.
