Furnace Won't Stop Blowing

All is well in RV land. Just got home from CA. They fixed the blower and addressed five other minor things. One was that my cd player was eating cd's so they replaced the radio unit. Stuff like that.

I am at Cruise America now and of course the thing is working perfectly now when the tech looked at it. ??. Isn't that the way of things. LOL.

Yes! I visited El Monte and had a good feeling about them initially. Even more so than Cruise America. I only went with CA because at the time I was hot to buy, only CA was in my unfairly low price range. :)

Not to hijack this useful thread, but it was your epic thread about buying a rental that changed my mind and led me to looking at rentals. So thank you. You do realize that if you google buying a rental RV your thread is one of the only decent compilations of RV owners who have actually purchased a rental. Pretty cool!

You know, while we are praising people. I was called back by a mobile RV repairman who takes warranty work. Jim's Mobile RV Repair. He was suggested by Coast RV as they were too busy to do a last minute fix. This guy was great on the phone. He basically spent a lot of time diagnosing the issue as we did here on this thread and came to the same conclusion for free. He wanted to be sure it wasn't something he could get me to fix for myself. Pretty decent fellow. I will likely call him in the future if I need to and of course, owning an RV, I will likely need to. :)

Is the relay something that can easily be detached and replaced or is it usually part of the board? My board is deep behind the motor for the blower unlike others I have seen where the board is easy to slide out from the side. Not an easy fix for a newbie like me.

I seem to recall someone saying that when they replaced their analog thermostat with a digital one that the digital one had the relay built in to it so they didn't need to replace the relay. Does that hold water?

I called around to several RV service repair centers to see if they could fit me in before Yosemite and they are all full. Understandable, as everyone is getting their RV's ready for camping season as well.

Good news is I also called Cruise America where I bought it 4 months ago and they told me to bring it in and they would take care of it for me. In addition, they will have the parts on hand to do it quickly the same day and it will save me the deductible charge on my extended warranty. One local place who couldn't do it until next week quoted me almost 500 to fix it. I had a good purchase experience at Cruise America and continue to be surprised by their service. I say surprises as I expected a horrible experience initially. Nice when that happens even though after three months they are not obligated to fix anything in the coach for free.

We shall see what happens tomorrow. Hopefully an easy fix. Once again, thank everyone for all of your help. I hope to return the favor with some good food and beer when we are camped next to one another on vacation. :)

I had the same thing happen on a car fan relay.

I had to tap the board lightly to get the fan to stop blowing again. The board is not easily accessible without taking the whole fan unit out of the sleeve.

So I am at the RV storage place now. Burnishing the thermostat did not help. The fan still runs even if I disconnect the thermostat wires. If I fire up the propane and turn the heat up on the thermostat, it blows hot air. However, when I turn the thermostat off it continues to blow but cooler air.

I just went out side and wrapped lightly on the board with h a screwdriver and the fan finally shut off. I read to try that if the relay was stuck. It worked. Now I have turned the heat back on and let it run for a while and am waiting to see if the fan stops on its own.

I checked it--It is called the SAIL switch. Make sure the battery is fully charged.
