Today I went to visit my RV in storage to get ready for Yosemite in a week. Last I left it three weeks ago, I disconnected the battery before I left. When I connected the battery the furnace started blowing and will not stop unless I disconnect the battery. First time this has ever happened. Any thoughts?
A guess here. When you left it did you shut if off before it was cycling thru? And now when given elec again picking up where it left off.
I did a search and found some possibilities but wanted more opinions. I thought it strange that it happened for the first time after I disconnected and then connected the battery for the first time (manually by hand) to leave the RV in storage. The battery is a sealed type 31AGM for RV's and is brand new.
The thermostat does not have an on or off switch but rather turns on when you raise the temp setting. (If the name on t-stat is White Rogers or similar name) Move knob all the way to left. You can see how the on-off part works if you remove the cover (just sort of unsnaps if you pull it towards you, if your standing in front of it.) But it does have "off" position, but sort of built in.
It is blowing cold air and the thermostat is basically off as it is as low as it can go. Make sense?
Also good idea to "burnish" the points every now and then. Mine sometimes stuck together. I replaced mine after it wouldn't start heater one cold morning. Turns out the wire in back was broken and making contact sometimes and sometimes not. Wish I'd known that before I bought a new t-stat.
They are not that big of $$$ if you need a new one compared to others.

Thanks!
Everything I've posted is based on your T-stat being on of these http://www.amazon.com/WHITE-RODGERS-SWITCH-1C20-101-THERMOSTAT-REPLACES/dp/B000WTCBXI Like what is in our Majestic
My Majestic did some strange elec stuff when I first got it also. After I cleaned up elec connections and battery cables near generator solved all my problems (so far).
