I'm liking the full-size van suggestion. I hadn't even considered that yet. It helps my numbers a lot:
Chevy Express Passenger 2500: 9600 lbs tow capacity - 7600 GVW of trailer - 650 pounds people - 200 pounds misc weight - 100 pound stab hitch = 1050 pounds safety weight. Payload is 2550 pounds - 988 tongue - 650 people - 200 misc - 100 hitch = 612 pounds left over.
And a Chevy Express is cheaper new than an expedition to boot. Plus we get tons of space in back that is secured after removing the 4th row.
