Depends on how long you keep your cars I suppose. Most car companies have 8 to 10 year warranties on their batteries. The battery should be good for the life of the car. Even early leaf batteries which were iffy in hot conditions are still in use in cab fleets. Some with over a quarter million kilometres. And things have come a long way since then. It’s a legitimate concern but I wouldn’t over think. Assess your needs based on losing 40 percent of the range over the life of the car. Early Tesla’s with 160,000 miles are seeing about 10 percent degradation. Batteries deteriorate less in cool climates than hot climates.
