Sorry we got off the OP's topic, but par for the course here, although more on topic than some threads, as the only "difference" in a credit card is the rewards, otherwise it's a piece of plastic money that spends the same.
GDE is on some kick, based on his own or his observance of irresponsible spending. Which is great to have corrected, or be aware of, but doesn't negate the freebies you get with a credit card.
I do find it interesting that he's ok with the "bank card" (credit card) for some purchases, but openly despises the use of CC's in general.
This is clearly a case of can't stop talking to justify a silly statement.
And still waiting for the "easier" way to make some free perks...investments don't count. They're investments. Most all of us have those too and that is not what the thread is about.
Only 55yrs old seems young for the "get off my lawn you whippersnapper" way of thinking.
