Gas light on refer blinking

Hey guys

Was sitting in my camper and noticed the gas light and green on light blinking. I've had the refer on gas non stop since June with zero issues. The hasn't been blinking for more than half an hour. I switched to auto and the gas light continued to blink but the green light was on steady. I put power to off for about ten seconds and went back to auto and the green light was on steady, no gas light. I switched back to gas and they both started blinking again within one minute. I checked the gas level and its good. No ltrouble ights on hot water heater. The stove works fine. What could be the issue? Norcold N811.

  • I'm going to have to clean the burner and chech the other things. I put it back on gas last night after being on auto for two hours. Been working fine since. My concern is that I leave the refer on all the time. I'm away from the rv for several days at a time while I work. I leave an ice cube in a cup in the freezer to let me know if there was some sort of failure while I was away. But if I get the blinking light it does not attempt to restart. I guess I'll take what I don't want to spoil.
  • LED ON and GAS LED Flashing
    OR
LED ON light ON --- GAS LED light Flashing

    Gas ignition FAILED

*Dirty/obstructed burner ...... debris fallen down blocking gas flow
*Spark electrode gap/position ..... 1/8" to 3/16" gap and electrode needs to be engulfed in main flame when it lights
*Spark electrode failed ..... check continuity/no continuity replace electrode
*Gas valve solenoid ...... is it opening when spark is occurring? Check solenoid resistance 80 ohms (gas valve only gets DC power for 6-8 seconds during sparking --- then power drops off if main flame doesn't light off)
*Check for DC Voltage on power module across terminals GV and GV GRD when trying to light off (No Voltage ,,,, replace board. Yes voltage ,,,,gas valve)

    So basically........

    Burner clean
    Does it spark YES/NO
    Does gas flow when sparking
    Does it have DC Voltage
  • I'll check for obstructions. But it's been ninety degrees here during the days for the past few days. I would think the flame would keep critters away. Ill check that In the AM as its pitch black and raining now.
  • Check the lines for obstruction in the refer gas line in refer compartment. Sometimes a bug can make a home and goof things up.
  • How would air get in? I've had the fridge on non-stop since June. My hot water heater didn't go out and my stove lit on first click. My tanks didn't switch over due to being empty. I don't think it's air. I do purge my lines when replacing tanks or starting up for the season.
  • Light the stove and let it run for a few minutes, this will help purge the air trapped in the line to the fridge! Works 99% of the time!
