avoid gas stations in emporia, va. on I95 at route 58. today was $3.57. went a few miles further and found $3.19.

Gas in Williams, AZ is $3.79-$3.99. 20 miles to the west on I-40 in Ash Fork it's $3.54 and 20 miles to the east in Bellemont it's $3.39. Cummins12V98 wrote:

There is one BP station in the dells...exit Hwy 12-16...His price has been 3.89 for almost 2 years while other stations are now at mid 3's.

bumpy- I live in oil boom country. I have a friend that bought oil options and now bringing in 35 grand a month. A rancher that has punched over 500 wells, reported to be bringing in a cool million a month. It's no wonder fuel is not going down. These poor folks have a life style to maintain.
- Where does a forum poster get the idea that healthcare in Canada is free??? SO far from it! In Canada, a GST (value added tax) is charged on/for goods and services. PLUS, most of the Provinces also have a PST (Provincial sales tax) added also to things/services purchased and it varies by Province. Six Provinces have combined their taxes into an "HST" (Harmonized Sales Tax). Ontario for one adds another 13% tax for alcoholic beverages in restaurants but the first $4 of the meal (food) is tax exempt. For example on alcoholic beverages made/sold in Canada, Canadian Club Whiskey made in Canadaand sold there is 2+ times the price charged if bought in the USA and 3-4 times the price if purchased in other countries such as the Virgin Islands and it even has to be shipped there which adds to their cost.
However, you can't get squat in a meal (food) to eat in Canada for only $4. Most Provinces total taxes added on to anything purchased (already at very high costs in Canada compared to in the USA) is an additional 12% to 15%. Healthcare is NOT FREE in Canada as you pay for it everyday thru virtually every purchase made or service used. Nothing is FREE as the cost must be paid for somehow and that somehow is YOU with nearly every dollar you spend!
Google: Sales taxes in Canada - Wikipedia, it explains it quite well and we often go into Canada ourselves and camp with many Canadians also and have 2 family members living there. One is a recently retired University Professor of Economics. Also have many friends who live in Canada. Says 1,800,000 web pages on the net about sales taxes in Canada that'll to keep you ammused for a VERY long time!
Go into Canada and look at the prices of about anything including fuel etc and you'll understand. That is once you "come to", how expensive that "FREE HEALTHCARE" really is! midnightsadie wrote:

Don't see how under $3.00 would be possible.
I follow it on the stock market ,all gas should be under $3.00 a gal but that ain,t gonna happen.- I love it when coming thru Needles, CA and see their gas (or even Dairy Queen) prices. You continue east on the interstate to just above Lake Havasu City, AZ and it has been $1.00 cheaper. We overnight in Needles - as we will in early October - occasionally and don't buy a thing there.
- Emporia is known for its speed enforcement and it is pretty strict all along the US 58 corridor. Set the cruise on the speed limit if you do not want a ticket. It is a very popular interstate stop with hotels and even a Cracker Barrek there now. If you just want a break, there is good big rig parking at the Hardee's.
