My professional engineering assoc. in BC considers climate change and it's effects to be a significant issue and prepared Climate Change Position Paper5 years ago. The associations recognizes how it will change building and infrastructure design.
The irrefutable scientific evidence is out there everywhere you look it's and growing daily - warming stream temps. and effect on spawning; migration northward of various species of marine life, animals and insects; extinction of species; severe droughts & flooding; thawing permafrost; spreading infectious diseases and outbreaks. This is just scratching the surface and would take too many pages to get into in more depth. Just a couple of links for ex.:

I watched Al Gore's documentary, An Inconvenient Truth the other day and that was 2006. Climate change evidence and impact has changed a lot since then and not in a good way. Difficult to listen to watch.
Many civilizations have come and gone over the millenia and I don't hold out much hope for the current humankind.
