I watched Al Gore's documentary, An Inconvenient Truth the other day and that was 2006. Climate change evidence and impact has changed a lot since then and not in a good way. Difficult to listen to watch.
Many civilizations have come and gone over the millenia and I don't hold out much hope for the current humankind.
You might be OK if you build a 10,070 sq. ft. mansion like Al, and live in that climate controlled structure. :R
