Gas Stop

I just came across a device called Gas Stop which shuts off the propane should the fuel line be broken. It seems like a good idea particularly for who have their fridge on propane while going down the road.

Do you have one installed on your rig?
  • I thought that was a protection in all modern tanks.
  • No.. That's a built in safety feature built in on LP cylinders since the early 2000's.. Sounds like a scam to me??
  • Be careful of the "Gas Stop" I've read where some had problems running their furnace or other high gas draw appliance. Seems if you draw too much the Gas Stop will do it's job and stop you gas flow.
  • Excess Flow Devices are standard OEM safety features in RV LP Systems
One should familiarize themselves with the LP safety features already built into their RV LP System

Gas Stop is an aftermarket product

Not all aftermarket products are necessary, an improvement or required

    Buyer beware

I have no 1st hand experience with 'Gas Stop' as I rely on the safety features that are OEM
  • I've heard putting a magnet on your fuel line increases mpg's too.. :)

Only in conjunction with the Vortex air cleaner or whatever that thing was....lol.

OP, yes your LP bottles unless eligible for a classic vehicle designation, have the same device built in.
  • Standard equipment on propane tanks. Try opening your valves really fast and see what happens.
